The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework
The principles are for a child to be safe and healthy, to enjoy and achieve, to make a positive contribution and to prepare the child for economic well-being.

The principles of the Early Years Foundation Stages (EYFS):

it is important for the child to develop positive relationships;

to create enabling environments; and

to encourage learning and development.

The principles meet the Every Child Matters outcomes which are for a child to be safe and healthy, to enjoy and achieve, to make a positive contribution and to prepare the child for economic well-being.
